Youth Winter Basketball League
Our basketball programs are designed for players of all abilities who want to have fun, take part in healthy competition and develop their skills. Players will learn the fundamentals of the game and the importance of teamwork, responsibility and sportsmanship. Volunteer coaches provide support and encouragement and serve as positive role models for youth.
Our Youth Fall Basketball League is open to all youth ages 3-14 years in a fun, skill-based environment. We will offer four different age divisions: Minis (Ages 3-4), Biddys (5-7), Juniors (8-10) and Seniors (11-14). We will be joining with the Portage YMCA for our biddy, junior and senior divisions.
Mini Division: Played in-house on Saturday mornings. Will practice for half-hour and then play game.
Biddy Division: Practices once a week at Duneland YMCA (Monday or Tuesday). Games on Thursdays at Duneland or Portage YMCA.
Junior/Senior Division: Practices once a week (Monday or Tuesday). Games on Saturdays at Duneland or Portage YMCA
At the YMCA, all of our youth sports coaches are volunteers. If you would like to make a positive impact in a young person’s life, please consider volunteering. Contact CJ Peters at [email protected] to volunteer. Participating families will receive $10 off for volunteering their time to coach!
Team placement and any league information emails will begin going out after sign-ups end. The email will be sent to the email address on file for the participant to be registered, so please make sure it is up to date.

Biddys (Ages 5 to 7)
Cost:
$50 YMCA Members
$90 Non-Members
$20 Jersey (Maroon & White)
Location: Duneland YMCA (Practices/Games); Portage YMCA (Games for three weeks)
Practice Details: Practices are once a week on either Monday or Tuesday. You will have the option to select your preferred date/time that will be used as a point of reference. Practices will begin the week of January 6th.
Game Details: Games will be held on Thursday Nights with teams playing a 6-week game schedule from January 16 – February 20. Game dates are January 16, 23, 30 and Feb. 6, 13, 20 and we will play games no earlier than 5 p.m.
Other Important Details: This league is designed as a combo league, which will have teams from the Duneland YMCA and Portage YMCA. We will play three Thursdays at the Portage Y and three at the Duneland Y on to be determined dates. This combination league will allow your children an array of competition and a chance to play at a different location.
— If your child has recently turned five and you would be more comfortable with them in our Minis Division that practices and plays only on Saturdays, please email CJ at [email protected] and let him know.

Location: Duneland YMCA (Practices & Games)
Practice Details: Saturday, 8:30 a.m. (30 minutes before their scheduled game time)
Game Details: Saturday, 9 a.m. We will play a 6-week game schedule. Game dates are Jan. 18, Jan. 25 and Feb. 1, Feb. 8, Feb. 15, and Feb. 22 (Medal Day)
